Job Title : Program Manager(1 year contract position)

 

Date : August 1, 2013

 

Job Summary :

<!--[if !supportLists]-->-          <!--[endif]-->Coordinates, implements, and delivers the project activities to the Korean residents living in the GTA area, and introduce the Korean culture to the mainstream society.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->-          <!--[endif]-->Procures grant and donation in order to advance Korean Community Centre and programs

<!--[if !supportLists]-->-          <!--[endif]-->Increase the utilization of Korean Community Centre by maintaining and operating the Centre.

 

Duties and Responsibilities :

<!--[if !supportLists]-->-          <!--[endif]-->Procures Grant and Sponsorship

- Applies for the grant to improve the environment of Korean Community Centre and to operate programs

- Suggests an alternative to receive the fund for Korean Canadian Cultural Association.

 -  Develops and Operates Cultural Class

    - Establishes cultural classes, recruits instructor, and advertises the class.

    - Develops programs to disseminate Korean culture to the mainstream society

    - Advertises the KCCA to the mainstream society and to the Korean society.

-   Maintains the KCCA Building

    - Is responsible for maintenance of the building 

    - Prepares templates for certificates

    - Manages the property tax

-   Implements Policies

   - Implements policies on building maintenance, recruiting volunteers and operating programs.

-    Develops Ties between Canadian Governments and External Organizations

    - Keeps up with the relationship between CMC, APCCC, and other communities

    - Works with the mainstream politicians, federal, and provincial government

    - Participates in external events

-   Recruits Interns and Volunteers

    - Recruits volunteers for events

    - Prepares evaluation sheets and reference letters for the volunteers and interns

-   Manages Website Contents

- Edits the website in English and writes the newsletter.

- Invites the community and advertises KCCA through SNS

- Implements policies in order to come up with alternatives for the KCCA website

-   Others

    - Writes speeches and letters in English

    - Provides assistance with KCCA events

    - Contributes to resolving issues regarding the maintenance of KCCA

    - Is responsible for other duties assigned

    - Perform other duties as assigned

 

 Qualifications and Required Skills :

University degree in a related subject

Profound understanding of the local Korean community

Strong knowledge of the non-profit sector and non-profit organization

Strong project planning and management skills

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong collaboration skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work beyond regular hours when needed

Ability to work during evenings and weekends when needed.

Knowledgeable in program management

Knowledgeable in client groups and/or issues related to the program area

Grant writing and Fundraising experience

Fluently bilingual in Korean and English, both speaking and writing

Ability to work with various computer software, such as MS Word, simple accounting, database, spreadsheets, e-mail
